Biography
Steve grew up in Queens, New York. He obtained his bachelors of arts degree from Boston University, graduating with honors. He obtained his law degree at St. John’s University in New York City.
Steven met his future wife, and longtime law partner, Karen at St. John’s law school . They moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and shortly thereafter started Schoenfeld and Schoenfeld. The firm has been specializing in representing workers in workers compensation claims and victims of negligence in personal injury claims for 36 years.
Steve Schoenfeld has represented thousands of injured workers. He’s tried well over 1,000 workers compensation cases.
In 2015, Schoenfeld and Schoenfeld opened a Hood River office, where Karen and Steve now currently reside. As a result, the firm represents workers all along the Columbia Gorge, Gresham, Central and Eastern Oregon.
Steve carefully chooses the cases he takes on. Schoenfeld and Schoenfeld is not a big firm with a volume mentality. Instead, Steve personally handles all the important aspects of each case, which includes taking the time to answer the client’s questions and concerns and keep his clients updated about their cases.
Steve Schoenfeld is an active member of the Oregon Bar Association. He’s a longtime member of the President’s Circle of the Oregon Trial Lawyers. He’s been a member of the Executive Committee of the Workers Compensation section of the Oregon State bar, as well as a longtime member of the Access to Justice committee, which researches and addresses issues affecting workers and seeks to improve the administrative system to benefit injured workers.
When not practicing law, Steve enjoys playing music with his band of middle-aged rock ‘n’ rollers, hiking, cycling, yoga, backpacking, and skiing the steep slopes of the Great Northwest.
